Oliver Farrow — artist, composer and pianist


Oliver Farrow is an artist, composer, pianist and music tutor based in Kings Heath, Birmingham, UK.

Oliver graduated a music composition degree at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He has received over 5 years of tuition in composition (harmony, polyphony, conducting, analysis, orchestration, reduction), music production (Logic Pro, Ableton, Sibelius), music for film (Goldsmiths University) and piano by active musicians working in their field, throughout A-level music and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

His work has been played on Radio 3 Late Junction, Flatpack Film Festival, Spectrum in New York, London & Birmingham. He’s worked with Le Page Ensemble, Thallien Ensemble, BCMG, Birmingham School of Acting, the GAP Arts Project in Balsall Heath.

Oliver’s work is eclectic and explores a variety of styles including; scores for large and small ensembles (orchestra, string quartet, recorder consort), electronic music (field recordings, synthesizers, samplers), songwriting for circus-style acts that reflect jazz and ragtime influences. Through this, he is contracted by theatre companies to write music and sound design for their productions. 

Currently, he is seeking to work with producers, writers and visual artists to create powerful, relevant work.

Oliver was part of the chorus for infinite opera’s beer opera, ‘Besse’.
